Baby Grace

Baby Grace is a spiritual, donation-based outreach program that provides aid for mothers & children throughout Western Missouri communities. The mission of Baby Grace is to offer prayers and support to  young parents and their children and to give families the opportunity to excel with Christian-based activities and free necessities such as diapers and clothing for the children. The volunteers of this program take pride in seeing the smile of both mother and child.

2 Corinthians 1:3-4  Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

About Baby Grace
Baby Grace is a ministry for families in need who are raising children between ages 0 and 5.  Our philosophy is that God Receives All Children Equally, and so do we.  Odessa Baby Grace has been going strong for over eight years now. A ministry of the United Methodist Church, we strive to offer prayers and support to young families in our community.
A second portion of Odessa Baby Grace includes the Support Group. Various activities will be planned both for the mothers and children as well as for the mothers to have some time away. Babysitting services will be offered as well during this time as needed.

What services does Baby Grace Odessa provide?

Free diapers and wipes

Clothes/Books/Toys/More – We manage a distribution center where we accept donations of used mother/child items for children ages 0 – 5. Those donated items are made available to Baby Grace families for free at quarterly Open Houses.  Because all items are donated, we can never guarantee availability of any item.  Items commonly found in the distribution center include clothes, books, toys, blankets.  You may also find high chairs, strollers, bouncy seats, pack-n-plays, swings, and other similar items.

Baby Grace Camp – Held every summer, this church camp is designed specifically for Baby Grace moms and their children ages 4 and under.  Spots are limited, so applications are accepted in the spring and moms are selected based on their application and space availability.

Spiritual support – Prayer requests are accepted (and acted upon!) at every monthly event. Pastoral support is also available upon request.

Are there qualifications to register for Baby Grace?

No!  We don’t care how old you are, what city you live in, or what your family situation is.  If you have kids between the ages of 0 and 5 and need our help, then we want to help you!

Our only qualification would be for the mom’s to only take things for their own use.

How do I register for Baby Grace?

Guardians will be asked to register when they come in, but do not need to bring anything with them.

When is Baby Grace Odessa open?

Wednesday evening events are the second Wednesday of each month, during the school year at 5:00 pm. If school is canceled due to weather, we cancel also.  Diapers and wipes are not promised at these events.  If we have them available, we give them out (our supplies are limited). Activities have ranged from a visit with Santa to financial planning, to craft time and presentations from various community leaders. Ideas for activities are always welcome.

How can I volunteer with Baby Grace?

If you want to get involved as an individual, or have a group that is interested in helping, please complete the Contact Us form and a Baby Grace representative will contact you.

I have donations for Baby Grace.  When can I drop them off?

People frequently ask how they can donate to Odessa Baby Grace!  First of all, let me say THANK YOU!!  We keep this group going primarily through donations, big and small!  We will gladly accept any new or gently used clothing, toys, and anything baby related.  New diapers and wipes or money to purchase them are also gladly accepted.

You can bring donations to any Baby Grace event. You can drop them off at the Odessa First United Methodist Church from 9am-3pm Monday through Thursday. You should probably call first at   816-230-4926. You are also welcome to contact us to make an appointment for drop off. The only things we cannot accept, for liability reasons, are cribs and car seats. There have just been too many recalls and too much risk if these are not in perfect condition and we are not equipped to make this decision.

As always, thank you for thinking of Odessa Baby Grace with your donations!!

We would like to have someone come speak to our group about Baby Grace.

We love to share the Baby Grace story!  We are happy to speak to your church, school or civic group about Baby Grace.  Just fill out the Contact US form, and a Baby Grace representative will be in touch.
